In POLITICO’s “Washington Wall” series, the standard fare for politicos is to feature pictures of themselves with various presidents and celebrities.
Not Dennis Ross. The walls of this Florida Republican congressman’s D.C. office are comparatively bare, save for four things: a turkey, a deer and two hogs. They are some of Ross’s favorite “gets” in years of hunting in his home state.
“I don’t need pictures of me with people to make me feel like I am somebody,” Ross told POLITICO. “I need some reminder of where I came from.”
Hence the animals, which he makes sure only come from his home state. “If I shot an Alaska black bear or something like that, I don’t think I’d put it up here because I want to be representative of Florida.” (read more)
