Ross Supports the Spending Reduction Act of 2012
Provisions of H.R. 6684 from Ross bill that passed committee
U.S. Congressman Dennis Ross (FL-12) voted yesterday in support of H.R. 6684, the Spending Reduction Act of 2012. This bill stops the remaining automatic sequester on all defense and non-defense discretionary spending for FY 2013 and replaces it with mandatory spending reforms. Included in H.R. 6684 are provisions regarding civil servant pension contributions from Ross’s bill that passed the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform February 2012.
“Our country has a spending problem,” said Ross. “I am pleased to support this common-sense legislation that funds our troops and saves hard-earned taxpayer money.”
-H.R. 6684 would lower the spending cap of the Budget Control Act (Public Law 112-25) by $19 billion in FY 2013, and would save taxpayers $242.8 billion over ten years.
-Ross’s bill, H.R. 3813, the Securing Annuities for Federal Employees Act of 2012, passed the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform on February 7, 2012.
