Ross Votes to Continue Funding the Government in Order to Effectively and Responsibly Serve American People
U.S. Rep. Dennis Ross (FL-15) voted in support of H.R. 933, the Department of Defense, Military Construction, and Veterans Affairs, and Full-Year Continuing Appropriations Act of 2013. This bill would keep the government funded through Sept. 30, 2013 (the end of Fiscal Year 2013).
“We have an obligation to the American people to ensure that their hard-earned dollars are used wisely,” said Ross. “This bill gives flexibility to those departments and agencies which serve our men and women in uniform. It also provides all government entities a clear understanding of their budget so that they can focus on effectively and responsibly serving Americans.”
-Currently, the government is funded through March 27, 2013.
-H.R. 933 continues funding for most departments at their current level, taking sequestration into account.
-H.R. 933 provides a separate appropriations funding bill for the Department of Defense, Military Construction, and the Department of Veterans Affairs so that they can mitigate the harmful effects of the sequester and can re-prioritize their funding to ensure the safety of our nation.
