15th District Update
Dear Neighbor,

As we gather with our families and friends this Thanksgiving Day, I hope that you, too, will find the time to count all the blessings we have been given.

I am thankful to live in the United States where I may praise God openly, provide for my wonderful wife and two sons, and participate in a democratic process of government.

In our world today, we are constantly surrounded by bad news and negativity. We are frustrated, angry and worried about the direction our government is taking and the safety of our nation. However, Thanksgiving is an opportunity to humble ourselves and give thanks.

We need to return to our values, return to a time of reflection, return to appreciation for what we have, and return to thanks. We have the choice to be happy, to be positive, and to be thankful.

It is not easy to choose to be happy and thankful, especially when we see what is going on in our country and world every time we turn on the TV and read the newspaper. But if we continue to give thanks first and foremost to God, He will continue to provide us with hope, especially in difficult and uncertain times.

I ask that you join me on bended knee, and give thanks for all of the blessings we have received. More importantly, I ask that you help one another to hold fast and be thankful during trials and difficult times, for these are the times when our characters are molded, when we are taught important lessons, and when we grow stronger in our faith.

I am deeply humbled and thankful for the opportunity to serve you in Congress.

May you enjoy a blessed Thanksgiving, and for all of our gifts, we give praise to Him:

“Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near. Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4:4 – 7
