Ross: House Passage of Disaster Relief Means Senate Must Stand for Florida Citrus and American Jobs
U.S. Rep. Dennis A. Ross (R-FL-15), Senior Deputy Majority Whip, voted for a disaster relief supplemental on Thursday that would provide Florida’s hurricane-devastated agriculture with much-needed relief. The supplemental passed after weeks of intense negotiations between leadership and the Florida and Texas delegations. The bill is now in the hands of the Senate.
“To our citrus producers who were hit hard by Hurricane Irma, the House has finally spoken, and relief is on its way,” said Rep. Ross. “The House has overwhelmingly voted to get our farmers the resources they need so we don’t lose this vital industry and American jobs to overseas competitors. Now it's time for the Senate to do its part and support a vital engine of Florida's economy by passing this disaster relief supplemental.”
