My Views on Immigration Reform
I wrote an op-ed in the Ledger and Temple Terrace Patch about our need for responsible immigration reform. I believe the best way to address immigration is in an incremental fashion through an open and public process — looking at multiple facets, including visas, guest worker programs, an E-Verify system, and border security.
ObamaCare
I voted to repeal ObamaCare yesterday to protect families and businesses from this costly health care law. I tried to offer an amendment to replace ObamaCare, but it was not considered. My amendment would have given patients more choices in the marketplace and would have given access to health insurance to people with pre-existing conditions.
Hearing on Veterans' Health Care Needs
The House Committee on Veterans’ Affairs Subcommittee on Health will hold a hearing Tuesday, May 21, on my bill, the Veterans Timely Access to Health Care Act.
Administration's Overreach
Lately, the administration has made questionable (and some unconstitutional) decisions regarding the IRS, Benghazi, and the Associated Press. We need to get to the bottom of these serious issues.
